Message from the Head

Dear students,

Welcome to Tarsus University Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation department!

The profession of physiotherapist is a profession that has existed in the world for more than a century, and its foundations were laid in Turkey in 1961. It improves individuals' movement and functional skills and helps them regain their independence in cases of illness, injury, aging, congenital or acquired disability; Health professionals who contribute to the protection and improvement of the health of healthy individuals are called Physiotherapists. The basis of being a physiotherapist is to understand how movement and function occur and the connection of movement with body systems.

As the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, which provides education within the Faculty of Health Sciences of Tarsus University, our priority is to train physiotherapists who know the health problems of the age and society, respect ethical values, and can respond to the developments in technology and the increasing needs of the health sector.

The language of instruction in our department is Turkish. Our department supports the basic knowledge and skills that our students will acquire through academic courses with elective courses; It aims to train versatile, well-equipped physiotherapists with academic communication skills. We have many elective courses related to physiotherapy and rehabilitation as well as arts, social sciences and technical sciences that students can choose according to their interests.

Our graduates can be employed in private and public health institutions, university or state hospitals, thermal spa rehabilitation centers or sports clubs for preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitation purposes. Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation program graduates have the opportunity to establish a healthy living & exercise counseling center, elderly care rehabilitation center or special education and rehabilitation center.

In addition, our academic staff consists of very young faculty members who graduated from reputable and well-established Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation schools in Turkey. Our efforts to improve the technological and laboratory facilities of our rapidly developing department continue.

I would like to remind you that we are ready for any support to fulfill our responsibility to equip you, our valued students, with the knowledge and skills you will need in both your academic and professional lives.

I wish you success in your work.
