Message from the Head

Dear students,

Welcome to Tarsus University Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department!

The physiotherapist profession is a profession that has existed in the world for more than a century and was founded in 1961 in Turkey. It improves the movement and functional skills of individuals in cases of disease, injury, aging, congenital or acquired disability, and enables them to regain their independence; Physiotherapists are health professionals who contribute to the protection and improvement of the health of healthy individuals. The basis of physiotherapy is to understand how movement and function occur and how movement relates to body systems.

As the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department of Tarsus University Faculty of Health Sciences, our priority is to train physiotherapists who are aware of the health problems of the age and society, respect ethical values, and respond to the developments in technology and the increasing needs of the health sector.

The language of instruction in our department is Turkish. Our department supports the basic knowledge and skills that our students will acquire through academic courses, with elective courses; aims to train versatile, well-equipped physiotherapists with academic communication skills. We have many elective courses related to physiotherapy and rehabilitation, as well as arts, social sciences and technical sciences, which students can choose according to their interests.

Our graduates can be employed in private and public health institutions for preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitation purposes, university or state hospitals, thermal spa rehabilitation centers or sports clubs. Graduates of the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation program have the opportunity to establish a healthy life & exercise counseling center, elderly care rehabilitation center or a special education and rehabilitation center.

In addition, our academic staff is quite young and consists of faculty members who graduated from respected and well-established Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation schools in Turkey. Our efforts to develop the technological possibilities and laboratory facilities of our department continue in a rapidly developing manner.

I would like to remind you that we are ready for all kinds of support to fulfill our responsibility in order to equip you, our esteemed students, with the knowledge and skills you will need in your academic and professional life.

I wish you success in your work.
