About the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

The Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation within the Faculty of Health Sciences offers a 240 ECTS undergraduate programme, with a standard duration of four academic years consisting of eight semesters. The curriculum has been prepared based on the criteria of the National Core Curriculum for Undergraduate Education in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (FTRÇEP) and meets all the requirements of a qualified undergraduate education in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.

The courses in our department are conducted through both theoretical and practical instruction, and the language of the programme is Turkish. Graduates who successfully complete the undergraduate programme in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation are awarded the Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and the professional title of Physiotherapist.

Today, the healthcare sector is of strategic importance throughout the world. Healthcare will continue to be an essential service as long as humanity exists. Therefore, the demand for healthcare services continues to increase. For this reason, the qualifications of the academic staff who will provide education in this field have become critically important, as healthcare directly affects human life. As a student-centred programme, the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Tarsus University, offers a variety of elective courses that enable students to acquire knowledge and skills in different fields. In addition, students are encouraged and supported to participate in national and international scientific activities and exchange programmes in the areas of their interest.

Our graduates may be employed in public and private healthcare institutions providing preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services, as well as in university or state hospitals, thermal spa rehabilitation centres, and sports clubs. Graduates of the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation programme also have the opportunity to establish Healthy Living & Exercise Counselling Centres, Geriatric Care and Rehabilitation Centres, or Special Education and Rehabilitation Centres. Graduates who wish to pursue an academic career may complete postgraduate education and work as academic staff in the Departments of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation or related departments at universities.
